A few weeks back I wrote a piece about the way that anyone who challenges the dominant political agenda is liable to undergo a shaming, smearing, witch-hunting attack by what I called “the voice of the system”.
Throughout the whole COVID nightmare, he was the most steadfastly opposed to authoritarian measures out of any member of parliament.
I dont particularly care to come to the defence of a Conservative politician, but the excuse they made up for ejecting him from the party was one of the flimsient excuses that Ive ever seen in my life. He never met the donor, never interacted with him, or anything like that. Imagine you had a GoFundMe and some nazi donated. How would you even know it was a nazi? And what ethical responsibility would you have to refuse or return the money? It makes no sense.
Excellent. Well done. And obviously, I so agree.
Oh! Oh! I´ve got a good one!
In Canada there was a Conservative Member of Parliament who got kicked out of the party because he received a donation of $131 from a white nationalist, supposedly. Story here: https://www.thestar.com/politics/federal/2021/01/20/conservatives-mps-eject-derek-sloan-in-a-secret-ballot-vote.html
