More shocking evidence has emerged of the way in which genuine anti-system dissidents are being maliciously smeared and “cancelled” by pseudo-leftists with a suspicious agenda. The latest target for the trolls is someone whose work I have been enjoying for years, an anti-fascist folk singer/songwriter from the USA who also regularly tours in Europe and is a familiar figure on the anarchist scene.
We have documentation in books like "The Cultural Cold War" and the "The Mighty Wurlitzer: How the CIA Played America" to know that the infiltration and manipulation and even impersonation of left activist groups goes back almost to the creation of the CIA in 1947. That info came out from the Church Committee hearings. Then things go silent. We would be fools to think that the CIA stopped their activities. No, they had to improve and expand their activities to manipulate the public mind. A precondition for a psy-op as grand as Covid had to be the near complete control of the left.
Agreed. I think we can see that control shaping up in the 15 years or so before the Covid moment. Resistance from the left, and particularly perhaps anarchists, had to be disabled in advance. It was/is a long-term operation.
Most definitely a long-term operation. This is a history we need written. I would be interested to know what milestones you see in those 15 years. For me it goes back much further. Much of Woke ideology comes directly out of Identity Politics. I saw a nascent form of IP in the 1980's anarchist movement that seemed more concerned with being vegan than fighting capitalism. This problem was best articulated by Murray Bookchin in his scathing polemic of "Social Anarchism v Lifestyle Anarchism: An Unbridgeable Chasm" from the 1990's.
Yes, the lifestyle thing was part of it. I particularly noticed the near-complete lack of interest on much of the UK anarchist scene in mobilising against the G8 conference in 2013. Suddenly protesting against global capitalism was regarded as being of little interest, a bit old-hat. More effort went into organising scuffles with skinheads in motorway service stations. Also, longer-term than that, a rejection of anything that might be regarded as "conspiracy theory". More lately, it's just been snowballing absurdity, from safe spaces through critical whiteness to "trans justice".

Those are familiar, not so much the skinhead thing, more Antifa pompously acting like they are running cover for democracy here in the US. About a year and a half ago at a march and demo against mask mandates, Antifa showed up (with what looked more like black uniforms as they were so new and consistently garbed) to put a stop to White Supremacy. When they found the demonstrators to be mixed races, young families and a lot of people with grey hair, they left.
Wow! Stunned!!!!! Portland is NOT the same place it was a decade ago. The fascist creep is real and intimidating. So much so that it is hard to know (post-plandemic) who is who anymore. The machine is real.....DR is one of the few who questions the state of things. Anyone who questions official state narratives will be destroyed one way or another. not so fast.....I have witnessed a LOT of scary behavior from old leftists that I thought I would never see. questioning everything means questioning EVERYTHING incl "science" and what gets promoted as such. Smoke and mirrors in the medical world...I have seen and experienced it.
That is certainly true. The numerous health freedom actions, banner drops, marches, rallies, gatherings, informational presentations, etc. I have been to in the last 3 years, the vast majority of people there have been over 50. There are exceptions of course, but they are few and far between. To your point, for all intents and purposes, the entire Left is a controlled cohort. I no longer call myself a leftist. I think we should abandon those terms.
Yes. The same situation here where I live in Eugene, OR which is like living in SF or PDX during the last 3 yrs of "the dark night of the soul". A few small group of over 50....a trickle of 30-somethings...but the lack of teen/20's is scary. I was literally chased off a street in a Sunday outdoor market by a goth-looking 20 yr old for not cutting off the breathing holes on my face!
We (me and my partner) do not call ourselves leftists either! I agree...terms are very limited and aid in distracting from unifying with people who value FREEDOM. cheers!
